£211 inclusive of supplement for 3 nights in a Premier Inn sharing a twin en-suite room, including breakfast. £12 supplement for attendees from Meetup. Priority booking ends 25 November 2026.

Activities

Staying in Goodrington in Devon on the beach in a Premier Inn. Steam train runs behind, which we will take one day to Dartmouth. Walks on the other days on the famous South West Coast Path. Kayaking and paddle boarding on beach beside hotel.

Friday: Our late afternoon walk will be a 4-mile coastal walk to Paignton and Torquay to reach Torre Abbey. Torre Abbey is dating back to 1196 and set within 18 acres of garden and parkland. It's also housing an impressive art collection boasting over 600 incredible works of art from the 18th century to the present day. We will then have fish and chips on the beach and get the no 12 bus back to the hotel for a night cap.

Saturday: We will take the opposite direction to Brixham. An 8-mile coastal walks with amazing views. We will end up at Berry Head Lighthouse to do some whale watching. Then walk back to Brixham where we will find somewhere to have lunch and do a spot of shopping. We can then either catch the no 12 bus back to the hotel or the boat to Paignton.

Sunday: We will travel in style to the beautiful coastal town of Dartmouth via train and ferry return (£29). We will do a 2-mile walk to Dartmouth Castle and then back to the town for lunch and shopping before returning on the steam train again. Train details will be sent to all booking.

Monday: The last day to enjoy the delights of Devon with kayaking or paddleboarding at Goodrington. The famous Quaywest Waterpark is beside the hotel if you want some daring slides.

Refreshments

Breakfast is provided with your room. Lots of cafes, shops and pubs nearby and on walks. The hotel has a restaurant for guests and lots of eateries around the area.

Travel

Nearest train station is Paignton, GWR from Paddington. Chargeable onsite parking.

Booking conditions for HAWOG events

  • If you submit a booking and your request can be met then you are committed to the purchase.
  • It is your responsibility to know or check in advance the total price per person or room.
  • If your request can be met then you'll receive an email from the organiser informing you of the total price, how calculated, and you'll be required to pay within 14 days of the date of the email. It's your responsibility to remember to check and respond to that email.
  • All places purchased are for a single bed in a same sex room exclusive to our group, unless agreed otherwise in writing by the organiser or you have booked a stated, available room. The number of beds in a room will vary.
  • If you cancel you will only get a refund if someone else pays for your place. Until then, you'll be expected to pay any outstanding balance. It's your responsibility to find a replacement, you can do this by emailing our group and informing that you have a place to sell, and letting the event organiser know. The group will sell remaining uncommitted places first before 'returned' places.

If your request cannot be met then you will be informed of this and what possibilities are available. You may then inform the organiser if you want to be added to a waiting list and/or submit another booking which meets one of the possibilities. A waiting list means you get informed soonest if suitable places or rooms become available, it does not commit you to purchasing them but you will need to confirm, and book, in a short period of time if you want them.

Methods of Payment

Whilst most membership, surcharges and events can be paid for online via our PayPal account, there are a few alternatives for attendees and events where online payment via our PayPal account is not possible:

  • Pay electronically direct to our group bank account.
  • Pay in person at a branch of our group's bank.
  • Get someone else to pay online for you.
  • Ask the organiser of events you need to pay for, if they will accept payment direct to them (and they pay group for you).
  • Occasionally, cash and cheques may be accepted at key events and dates.
  • Cash and cheques may be accepted for a small handling charge.
